PhD Call for Non-Italian Citizens Scholarship for Minorities


The Scholarship for Minorities Faculty of Architecture of the University of Rome, the first to be founded in Italy in 1920, has inherited the tradition of the Higher School of Architecture, based on the unification of the teaching of building, restoration, and urban planning. It has a diverse and rich faculty, with relevant personalities in several scientific fields. The large student body contributes to a vibrant environment, with a large number of cultural activities, such as in no other Italian architecture school.

The call is published on the University website. The Scholarship for Minorities application must be compiled on the appropriate form, signed and be sent with the required documentation to the Doctoral school.

PhD Scholarship for Minorities Studentship in Motivational Orientation and Cognitive Control


The Behavioural Science Institute of Radboud University Nijmegen has an opening for a PhD Scholarship for Minorities student in the project ‘Moving control: How approach and avoidance motor actions affect cognitive control’. Your research project will focus on the psychology of approach avoidance orientations from an embodied cognition perspective. A Scholarship for Minorities great number of studies on embodied cognition illustrate the influence of bodily states on specific affective and cognitive responses (e.g. liking). Going beyond these earlier findings, the current research project aims to investigate regulatory functions of embodied cognition by testing the influence of bodily states on the recruitment of cognitive control. Specifically Scholarship for Minorities, we aim to test that avoidance bodily positions (e.g. stepping backwards or arm extension) enhance the allocation of cognitive resources because these movements are usually acted upon in situations that require vigilance and mental effort.

You have a relevant Master’s degree, preferably from a research master’s programme in experimental psychology (social, cognitive, behavioral science or other). Scholarship for Minorities to be an ideal candidate for this position, you should have experience in experimental research with human participants, basic programming skills and skills in analysing complex data, and reporting your findings in scientific articles. A good command of English is required.
